Practical considerations for professional EV and PHEV procurement — from the first buying brief to the final handover.

The buying brief
Start with the customer. Then select the vehicle.
Define the retail audience, expected use, budget position and destination before choosing a model. Charging access may influence whether a battery-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle fits the intended buyer. Treat the model portfolio as a starting point for a commercial conversation, not a forecast of demand.
Specify powertrain, body style and equipment priorities.
Separate must-have requirements from flexible preferences.
Set an indicative volume and review your holding-period assumptions.
A European listing is not a universal specification.
The same model name can represent different equipment, software, warranty arrangements or steering configurations. Check the actual market version and supporting documentation. A valid VAT number is only one part of determining the correct tax treatment.
Confirm type approval and registration evidence.
Record the physical supply route and delivery responsibilities.
Verify warranty eligibility and service arrangements for the destination.
Compare the whole transaction, not just the headline price.
A lower vehicle price does not by itself establish a better purchase. Transport, taxes, condition, timing and documentation can change the commercial outcome. Review each quotation on a consistent basis before committing.
Separate vehicle price, transport and other charges.
Check payment milestones, allocation and offer validity.
Document condition, mileage, keys, charging equipment and handover.
Manufacturer pages underpin our model research. Public authorities explain the legal framework. Confirm the current information for your specific transaction.
